 emiliosc22, I thought the exact same thing about the statue. I'd have to cover my kids eyes (if I had any)! I'm an arts major so while i can appreciate the skill that went into creating the statues, they coulda put some pants on!
Very beautiful pics though... so real!

New Bahamas travel warning (11/14/2008)
|
I find this post really interesting... and the fact that has been alive for the last 4 years too!
I'm all for people stating their opinions, but bcde comments in my opinion are to be discredited, because he never stated his own personal perspective and viewpoint. He did not come across as being objective, and therefore his comments are untrustworthy.
I have read comments on TripAdvisor for example of people talking about their travel experiences, and after reading through a few, you can tell ...

Has any one bought in Property in the Caribbean after Hols? (11/14/2008)
|
Hey there, not sure if you still interested in this since you posted a few months ago.
We bought a vacation property in the Caribbean (Barbados)... I'm Bajan but I live in Canada. The experience was very enlightening and DIFFERENT, not at all like buying property here in Canada.
What made us buy? The property market in Barbados is in high demand. With prices going fast in one direction... up! Since we plan on moving there one day, we thought it would be a good idea to invest now. And we're ...

Cuba after Paloma (11/11/2008)
|
Cuba is facing a hard time after being hit by three different hurricanes in the past two months. I know it is hard for anyone to recover from something like that and when we speak about Cuba I'm sure it will be even harder.
It seems that tourism will be seriously affected but I'm not sure if it will totally stop. It would be nice to hear about someone who knows more about this..

I had a feeling xmas would be more expensive! We originally planned flying over that way during christmas, but we've settled for a smaller holiday near christmas and flying over there next year, when it's a little cheaper we think :).

Punta Cana Vacation (10/22/2008)

Peaches says she is from Miami, traveller from New York, but the IP trace shows that they're posting from the same location. *sigh*
Setting up a second account to answer your own question is a violation of the rules which apparently weren't read.
DON'T try and trick the system. Asking questions that you later answer yourself with a plug for your own company, and suchlike, have all been tried before... and resulted in instant bans. There is nothing we haven't already seen - believe me, and ...

Favorite place? (10/18/2008)
|
Hi chithanh119,
Can't really comment on Belieze or Roatan, though I sure they are very beautiful.
Had some family pass through Cozumel briefly on a cruise and I understand it is great place to visit but not sure about the snorkeling.
Barbados I can definitely tell you about it is certainly my favourite island and one of the best choices in the Caribbean period.
The infrastructure in Barbados is very good for Internet connectivity etc. I am in Barbados right now and have had no problem ...

places to go/ stay in La Habana, Cuba? (10/04/2008)
|
In the central part of La Habana (Centro Habana) the Parque Central (expensive) is probably the best for travellers used to stay in a civilized hotel run by a international hotel group (NH Navarra Hotels). Around Parque Central you will find some more run by Cuban management (even this is a contradictio in terminis) like Telegrafo, Plaza, Ingliterra and the newly reopened Saratoga (most exepensive). Along the so called Prado (Paseo Marti) you also find the Sevilla and a little bit down in a ...

Linstead, Jamaica (09/21/2008)
|
I have Jamaican friends who live in Linstead, Jamaica and I am wondering how safe or unsafe it woul dbe for me to go there. It is off the beaten track as far as tourists go and thus I am thinking it is probably not a good idea unless my friends can collect me from Ocho Rios. Any thoughts?.

Dean's Blue Hole (09/12/2008)

I hadn't heard of it either - apparently it's 202 metres deep. (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean's_Blue_Hole )
There's a great pic here (also from Wikipedia):

Caribbean accommodation (08/27/2008)
|
One of the cheapest places for such vacations is the island of Dominican Republic, where you can find cheap villas for about $150.00 per day, or bigger ones for about $700 per week. Golden Key Management in the DR town of Sosua has some options and while they list the high end ones, they also have unlisted properties, some beach front at a better price.
Puerto Plata, Sosua and Cabarete are nice places to do snorkeling, golfing, fishing, discos and much more. Find GKM at goldenkeymanagement, com ...
