what to do for 2 weeks in Canada? (11/06/2008)
There is just so much to see and do in Canada. You won't know what to do first. And two weeks is not a great deal of time to spend in a huge country such as this. However, if you get the chance, try to see the amazing Niagara Falls..

Naturism in Canada (11/02/2008)
Nudists don't bother me at all. As long as no one has a problem with that, let's have some fun!.

What's the most beautiful places in Canada??? (10/16/2008)
Autumn (fall) is a great time to travel. Like the east coast of the United States, the trees turn from lush green to gold, amber and ruby red. If you're renting a car you'll have the best chance of seeing the most beautiful sights. Quebec is particularly picturesque. It's very much like a European city in its appearance so there's lots of opportunities for photographs!.

When is the best time to travel through Canada? (10/09/2008)
I agree with some of the other posters that BC is the prime place in Canada to visit. For summer travel July and August are typically pretty bulletproof in Vancouver and up the coast and there really aren't many places in the world that come close to BC in the summer.... there, I said it... and I've travelled a lot. Winter is a different story. Vancouver is dark and rainy for most of winter but if you're into skiing and other outdoor winter acitivities Jan and Feb are by far the best ...

from toronto to st johns??? (08/31/2008)
Sorry it is St John NB I am not sure if greyhound takes a ferry to NFoundland? Maybe you can take a bus to the ferry, walk on the ferry, then catch a bus in NFoundland?.

Canada by rail (08/29/2008)
you could try to hitchhike if you're very flexible with your dates, or check out the hostel boards (or some websites) and find some people with a car going into the same direction. the trick is to stick to the big cities here, because its sometimes hard to get out of small towns this way. but try the train at least once if you get a good deal, just for the experience. and its much more comfy than the bus..

Travelling wif a 2 year old to San Diego and LA (08/12/2008)
hi, I don't know why nobody replied to this thread. I am feeling so pity about the guy. Hmmm.. its a very old thread and this member must be very disappointed or might be on the way to San Diego. So I hope you will return and will share your experiences of San Diego..

snow train (08/10/2008)
The Snow Train is run by Canada's National Rail Line VIA Rail, and it travels the Toronto-Jasper-Vancouver route untill mid-March I believe. This run takes you through alot of the Canadian Wilderness, especially the Western Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan parts of the journey. I think prices start at around $450 for the cheapest seats. The best part would be through the Canadian Rockies. In the winter it's a spectacular journey. If you have the time the whole trip would be a great ...

has anyone booked flights through canadian affair (08/08/2008)
That sounds like a nightmare John. I recently flew with Air Transat (which someone points out is a sister company of Canadian Affair). I booked my tickets in advance and chose my seats. Both flights were full but thankfully I had no problems. (apart from sitting next to two elderly Spanish ladies who wanted to talk the whole duration of the flight! They soon stopped after I started talking to them in Catalan :P I must have been one of the lucky ones..

Frontier Days, Cheyenne (08/05/2008)
Yes, I've seen the website. I was hoping someone could share personal experience. He's looking to attend in 2009..

Toronto Pearson International Airport (07/10/2008)
Not worth it unless you have a VERY long layover. A cab ride from Pearson to Downtown would be very expensive and traffic can be quite bad. I would stay at the airport or just catch a cab to a shopping mall or something nearby..

Montreal on a student budget (07/10/2008)
Hi Montreal is actually a good place for cheap accommodation - there are lots of cheap hotels and good quality Montreal hostels. Id recommend Hotel Montreal Espace Confort for a student break as its in the citys lively Latin Quarter. Theres also tons of great nightlife. There are bars and clubs around St Laurent Boulevard and St Catherine Street East in downtown Montreal. Club Dome on St Catherine Street West is a great bet for a big, ...

I need some advice! (07/06/2008)
I agree about Gastown. and Stanley park. give yourself a whole day there, to walk, do the Aquarium, maybe take a horse drawn carriage ride to see the different things in the park, like the mermaid statue, the view near the restaurant, the cricket pitch, ( at least you will know what that is), you can bike around as well as walk, it is awesome. I would also go to Gastown and the Chinese gardens, and up the mountain. I havent done the suspended walk but there are two, one of which is free. ...

Greatest structure in canada? (07/06/2008)
i really like the Lion Gate Bridge. yes it is just a bridge but it just looks so spectacular heading out into the harbour, especially when viewed from Stanley Park. I also agree that the Rockies are awesome but which part? I like the Chateau Lake Louise but the Banff hotel is a little spartan, or perhaps i just saw it during a rain storm and the grey walls looked depressing. havent seen some of the other, but will one day.

Canada busy in August/September? (07/04/2008)
I live in Ontario Canada and tend to think it's pretty quiet here all the time! Generally I always like to have my sleeping arrangements booked prior to a trip to make for a problem free trip. My wife can tell you stories of traveling with her parents as a child and having to sleep in the car due to no place to sleep..
